The
Model 3001.2 is an efficient and user-friendly closed-loop temperature
controller/driver for thermoelectric coolers (TEC) and is an ideal
choice for all high-powered thermoelectric cooling or heating
applications, including large laser diode arrays or other laboratory
heat pumping tasks requiring TEC electrical power inputs of up to 555
watts. Line voltage requirements are 100-240 VAC at 8 A, 50/60 Hz and
the unit is power-factor-corrected for use in the United States or
Europe. The simple user interface allows rapid set-up, while a large,
bright LED display is provided for monitoring the set point, operating
temperature, limit temperature, TEC current and voltage, and TEC
current limit. The Model 3001.2 provides maximum protection for your
thermoelectric coolers and constantly monitors and protects against TEC
and system overcurrent, open TEC cables and excess system and sensor
temperature. The Model 3001.2 uses a responsive and easily-tuned
proportional-integral (PI) feedback loop, ideal for the long time
constant thermal loads usually associated with large arrays of TECs.
High operating efficiency and low temperature stress is afforded
through the use of our exclusive Load-Trac circuitry (US patent
#7,024,864), providing you with a rugged controller that uses a minimal
amount of your valuable lab space. The detailed operating manual allows
the user to obtain the best possible performance from a large selection
of temperature sensors. Hints from the manual and our technical support
staff can save valuable time in optimizing the thermal design of a
TEC/heat-load assembly.
